Project Overview
Purestream is a financial technology company focused on institutional trading. As part of my work at Hakuna, I contributed to the development of its digital ecosystem, working across the public-facing website, interactive experiences, Purestream Live, Streamcast, and internal tools.
The public-facing website combines a strong visual identity with interactive financial content, including animated charts and data-driven experiences powered by APIs. I worked on frontend components, interactions, animations, and responsive layouts across these experiences.
I also contributed to Purestream's internal intranet, built with Vue, working on frontend experiences for internal workflows and extending my work beyond the public-facing website.
The project involved Next.js, React, TypeScript, and GSAP across the public and interactive experiences, alongside Vue for the internal intranet.
The Challenges
One of the main challenges was combining a highly visual marketing experience with real financial data. The website needed to present data and charts in an engaging way while keeping the experience clear, responsive, and performant.
Working with API-driven data required building interfaces that could dynamically render financial information and translate it into visual experiences, including animated charts and data visualizations.
Another important part of the project was implementing complex animations and transitions with GSAP while maintaining smooth interactions across different devices and screen sizes.
The project also included several distinct experiences, including the main website, Purestream Live, Streamcast, and an internal intranet. Maintaining a consistent frontend experience across these products required working with different interfaces, interaction patterns, and frontend technologies.
Working on the internal intranet introduced a different set of requirements, focused more on usability, data, and internal workflows than on the highly visual experience of the public website.
